Description 

The Therle Drake Postgraduate Scholarship will be available annually and operations should be made by 15 November or 31 March in the time following, or the time in which the design is planned. All players are eligible, though preference may be given to a piano pupil.  

 History 

The Therle Drake Postgraduate Scholarship was established in 2013, via the Victoria University of Wellington Foundation, through a birthright made by John Drake, in memory of his woman, Therle. 

 

 Eligibility 

The aspirant must be enrolling or have enrolled for postgraduate study at Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington, and remain in good academic standing. 

 

 Criteria 

Aspirants must be enrolling or have enrolled for postgraduate study at Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington. 

The education can involve the pupil attending a short course; or attending and/ or sharing in a musicale and/ or masterclass in Europe, North America or Australia. 

The education is open to New Zealand citizens, endless residers and transnational scholars. 

 Operation process 

A completed online operation must be submitted by4.30 pm on the ending date. Late or deficient operations won't be accepted. Any needed supporting attestation ( including references) must also be entered by 4.30 pm on the ending date in order for the operation to be considered. 

 

Operations will typically open one month previous to the endingdate.However, check back again near to the ending date, If no operation link is handed below. Communicate us if you have any queries.

A particular statement outlining the design and its benefit to aspirant’s career plans 

A detailed budget 

Clones of any communication with the host person (s) or organisation (s) overseas 

A reference from the top administrator 

Selection process 

The successful aspirant will be named by the NZSM Literacy Committee in discussion with applicable Head of Seminaries and Programme Directors. 

 

 Fresh information 

Donors are needed to write a letter of thanks to the representatives of the patron on damage of the award and to give an end of time progress report if requested. 

 

Donors must remain enrolled in their course of study. 


Donors will be anticipated to demonstrate engagement and contribute to the community and terrain of the New Zealand School of Music. This may include but isn't limited to, participation in ensembles, donations, or performances at NZSM or university events. 

 

The education may be held in confluence with other awards. 


One at $9,000 annually for full Master’s education plus freights, or two at $20,000 each annually toward freights for postgraduate study. 

 

Regulations and conditions 


A completed online operation must be submitted by 4.30 pm on the ending date. Late or deficient operations won't be accepted. Any needed supporting attestation ( including references) must also be entered by 430 pm on the ending date in order for the operation to be considered. 

All offers of the Scholarship will be tentative upon the philanthropist being completely enrolled in a full- time programme ( full- time will be at the position of points considered by Studylink as full- time) within the quested criteria and term of the education. No payment of the Scholarship will be made until this condition is met. 

The Scholarship can not be remitted to a after time. 

The Scholarship may be held in confluence with other awards. 

Should the philanthropist withdraw from Victoria University of Wellington during the term of this education or fail to achieve a satisfactory progress, partial prepayment of the Scholarship will typically be anticipated. Donors must advise the Literacy Office if they intend to withdraw. 

Donors are anticipated to act as Ministers for Victoria University of Wellington and share in applicable events or marketing if requested. 

At the discretion of the Deciding Authority, the operation of the terms and conditions of the Scholarship may be modified in special circumstances or to avoid difficulty to any seeker for the Scholarship.
