Department of Food Science invites aspirants for a PhD fellowship in Quantitative Sustainability assessment of food systems.
Launch date is ( anticipated to be) 1st of May 2022 or as soon as possible later.
The design
This PhD design is part of the several Food Science systems; among others the EU design Food RUs (An innovative cooperative indirect food system to reduce food waste and losses in the agri- food chain) and MASSPROVIT ( Making microalgae a sustainable unborn source of proteins and vitamins) funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark.
The thing of the PhD design is to perform system position assessments of the request entry of arising technologies exercising food waste and side- aqueducts of the being food force chain, thereby working global societal challenges associated to the current food system. The PhD will
contribute to farther development of modelling generalities and tools to quantify nutritive and environmental sustainable food product and consumption
contribute to or perform process- grounded LCA of being and unborn food technologies.
contribute to or perform mongrel-LCA and EE-MRIO modelling of the global frugality with a special focus on either food sectors
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for campaigners within the field (s) of sustainability wisdom riveting on food systems sustainability assessment. Aspirants can have a background from artificial ecology, environmental wisdom, environmental engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, food chemistry, or food technology. Systems understanding and knowledge of/ experience in artificial ecology modelling tools similar as Substance and Mass Flow Analysis (SFA/ MFA), Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and/ or Input- Affair modelling is and advantagde.
Our group and exploration-and what do we offer?
You'll be part of an interdisciplinary exploration terrain applying different exploration disciplines to adress sustainable innovative in food wisdom combining all dimension of sustainability in the design of environmental sustainable and innovatie food systems.
We work with the application of unexplored raw accoutrements, new constituents and bioactivity in the design of health- perfecting functional foods. Incipiently, we integrate environmental and nutritive life cycle assessment of innovative food processes applying green chemistry principles, while aiming at zero waste food force value chains.
Do you want to contribute to green transition by developing new assessment frame for addressing environmental sustainable and healthy food product systems and constituents, and meanwhile gain a PhD degree in an transnational terrain? Also this may be intriguing for you.
Department of Food Science, Section of Food Design and Consumer Behavior, invites aspirants for a PhD fellowship in Food Science with a focus on assessing the part of sustainable business invention and green technologies in transformative circles of the food systems towards sustainability.
The group is a part of the Department of Food Science, Faculty of SCIENCE, University of Copenhagen. We're located in Copenhagen.
We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in dynamic and transnational exploration terrain. Our exploration installations include ultramodern laboratories and modelling tools.
