Schwarzman Scholars was established to address the challenges of the modern era and draw inspiration from the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship, which was created in 1902 to advance international cooperation and harmony. 

Each year, Schwarzman Scholars provides support to 200 exceptional individuals from the U.S., China, and other countries for a master’s program in global affairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing, renowned as a key hub for China’s political, business, and technological landscape.

Selected Scholars will spend a year in Beijing engaging in academic pursuits, cultural experiences, and regional exploration to enhance their knowledge of China. Since its inception in 2015, Schwarzman Scholars has gained recognition as one of the most competitive graduate and fellowship programs worldwide.
