UN Internship Opportunity with the hookups, Policy and Dispatches Unit( UNCDF)
The UN Capital Development Fund makes public and private finance work for the poor in the world’s 46 least developed countries( LDCs).
UNCDF offers “ last afar ” finance models that unleash public and private coffers, especially at the domestic position, to reduce poverty and support original profitable development.
UNCDF is seeking an intern to be part of the hookups, Policy and Dispatches Unit( PPC) in its Headquarters located in New York, United States. Working under the guidance and supervision of the Head of PPC, and working nearly with PPC staff, the intern will support the ongoing workplan and pretensions of the unit, including but not limited to expanding hookups; preparing policy missions for high position meetings; supporting the launch of major enterprise on amalgamated finance and enterprises in Africa; and structure and maintaining a base of knowledge about Member States.
The externship director is committed to furnishing the intern with the training, guidance and support necessary to complete the below duties and liabilities effectively and within the externship period. This will include, but not be limited to, listed meetings( daily) to assess affair progress, systems training( where needed) and completion of needed university reports for the purpose of meeting any necessary Degree conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities |
Under the supervision of the Head of Partnerships, Policy and Communications PPC Unit, and in close collaboration with the Sustainable Finance and Partnerships Specialist in the PPC Unit, the intern will assist in any of the following tasks:Summary of key functions:Support to Strategic advocacy and partnership development;responsibilities under Support for creation of new innovative finance vehicles and instruments;Support to mobilization of core and non-core resources;Support to effective Internal and External Donor Relations;Support to facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing. |
Strategic advocacy and cooperation development
Support the development of commercial strategies acclimatized to specific benefactors;
Support to structure and maintaining connections with the fiscal sector, private sector investors, and family services;
Support for furnishing strategic advice and policy recommendations with a view to situating UNCDF explosively;
dissect patron trends in the UNCDF backing geography.
Define and regularly ‘ connect ’ UNCDF value propositions in the LDCs in alignment, and when possible, in expectation of the changing aid armature and evolving resource rallying motorists;
Identification of openings for UNCDF programmes in its relationship with other UN Agencies;
perpetration of PCU strategy for partnering with UN Agencies around UNDAF, MDG and other common programming for perpetration of UN Reform;
Identification of specific areas for support, erecting on UNCDF relative advantages and UNCDF programmatic objects in country.
help in , structuring and maintaining relations with other UN agencies that support the effective perpetration of the IF and LDF business plans, with special focus on concertedly rallying of coffers;
Provides specialized support during concession processes at the commercial position( HQ) with crucial mates( applicable to the new thematic areas similar as with the EC, GEF,etc.)
Provides timely and professional response to COs requests for support on matters of hookups- structure.
Enhances capacity by UNCDF country and indigenous services to pursue and subsidize on strategic hookups and resource rallying openings.
Support to rallying of core andnon-core coffers
give effective and effective support to the Administrative Secretary and elderly operation in the rallying of core and non-core coffers in all aspects of resource rallying;
Support and produce new hookups withnon-traditional benefactors, particularly pots, the investment sector, and the fiscal sector;
Specifically, support UNCDF elderly operation in the rallying of core andnon-core coffers through in- depth analysis of patron-specific ODA trends, political and profitable developments, aid programs, practices and budget allocations in specific patron countries;
Identify and develop openings and nonin-depth-core resource rallying and advise country services and headquarters units on applicable strategies and approaches to seize them; and
Contribute to the development of commercial programs and procedures for core andnon-core resource rallying, including through strategic mates.
Effective Internal and External Donor Relations
Facilitation of knowledge structure and knowledge sharing
Identification and expression of assignments learned and recommendations to be integrated into broader CO knowledge operation sweats;
benefactions to knowledge networks and communities of practice; and
Organization and conduct of trainings on RM and hookups erecting in the Country Office.
