30th Anniversary Academic Excellence Scholarship at Southern Cross University, Australia



As part of the 30th Anniversary celebrations, Southern Cross University is pleased to announce two special scholarships available for international students who will be starting their studies in 2024.


To apply for these scholarships, students' eligibility will be evaluated by the Southern Cross admissions team during the application process. Successful applicants will be notified in their Letter of Offer, which will also outline the terms and conditions of the scholarship.


There is no need for a separate application.


Students interested in the 30th Anniversary Academic Excellence Scholarship must meet the following criteria:


- Begin an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree in Term 3, July intake 2024 at Gold Coast, Lismore, or Coffs Harbour campus as a new international student (excluding quota programs Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood, Master of Nursing, and Bachelor of Nursing).

- Demonstrate high academic achievement above the University's minimum admission requirements, which will be assessed by the Southern Cross admissions team.

- Hold a student visa.

- Successfully complete all units each term and fulfill program and student visa requirements.

- Submit the application between Friday, 1st March and Wednesday, 1st May at 12 pm, and accept the offer before 31st May 2024.

- Not be a recipient of any other Southern Cross University scholarships.

- Note that this scholarship is limited to 100 places and is not open to Australian or New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.


Please be informed that the scholarship provides a $15,000 fee reduction in the first year and an $8,000 fee reduction in subsequent years, based on 8 units per year for full-time international students.


Kindly note that this scholarship is exclusively for international fee-paying students and does not cover programs offered through SCU Ventures, The Hotel School, or Keypath Education.

2024 Job Opportunity – Investment Officer with the Australian Embassy

 



The Australian Embassy is currently accepting applications for an Investment Officer position. This role is crucial in supporting Australia's Southeast Asia Economic Strategy by facilitating increased Australian investment in Cambodia. 

The selected candidate will collaborate closely with colleagues at the Australian Embassy, other Australian missions in Southeast Asia, and stakeholders in Australia. The Investment Officer will work independently to execute initiatives outlined in the strategy, engaging with Cambodian and Australian government entities, Australian investors, and the Cambodian business sector to encourage Australian investment in Cambodia.

This opportunity is open for immediate placement, and upon successful completion of a three-month probationary period, the appointed candidate may receive a 24-month fixed-term contract. There is a possibility of contract extension based on funding availability.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Our preferred candidate should possess the following:


Desirable qualifications in a relevant field, although not mandatory.

Desirable work experience in a related field, although not mandatory.

Proven skills in establishing and managing productive working relationships with clients, suppliers, business partners, and/or government bodies, and a demonstrated ability to leverage a network to achieve business outcomes.

Excellent representation and communication skills, including interpersonal, negotiation, and business writing abilities, particularly in articulating investment deal concepts and ideas.

Exceptional research and written communication skills, as well as project management and problem-solving capabilities.

Knowledge of, or the ability to acquire knowledge of, Cambodian Government policies and regulations about foreign investment and/or opportunities, as well as the operating environment for foreign investors in Cambodia.

Capability to deliver results in a commercial setting and effectively apply them to investment facilitation.

Proficiency in English and Khmer at a high level is required. Experience in translation and interpretation is highly desirable, but not mandatory.

We offer a competitive salary package, which includes participation in a performance management and bonus scheme. The basic monthly salary range for this position is USD 2,233 to USD 2,687.

 The following ongoing conditions apply to this education 

 

The philanthropist must continue to meet the eligibility guidelines and these terms and conditions at the time of applying and throughout the education period. 

The philanthropist must be in nonstop good standing academically and financially. 

The philanthropist must maintain a full- time registration cargo of 60 credit points during the first time of their course unless expressly approved by ECU in its absolute discretion 

 The education can not be transferred to another course without ECU’s authorization (which may be withheld in ECU’s absolute discretion). 

The education can only be used for education freights and can not be used for any other pupil expenditure. The education will be applied directly by ECU on a unit-by-unit base at the applicable tale date. 

The education can not be transferred to an ECU position or mate outside Western Australia, or to another university. 

The education can be abandoned if the philanthropist doesn't accept their Letter of Offer or enrol in their course by the applicable date (s) specified. 

The inception of the education can not be remitted. 

 The philanthropist must pay their education freights within the quested payment deadlines. Failure to do so may negate the education and the education figure structure may return to full-figure full-time transnational education. 

The philanthropist may come ineligible for the ongoing damage of the education if they admit a government education, assiduity backing, or another ECU education or entitlement during the term of the education. Ongoing eligibility for by-law education in these circumstances is at ECU’s absolute discretion. 

 The philanthropist must misbehave with all applicable conditions under ECU’s bills, rules, by- laws, programs, procedures, or other analogous instruments, and with all applicable visa conditions. 

 The philanthropist must notify ECU of any change of circumstances that may affect their ongoing eligibility to admit the education. 

 All literacy are awarded at ECU’s discretion. ECU reserves the right to drop the education at any time if a pupil is planted to have handed information that's falsely deceiving, doesn't meet the education eligibility criteria ( including ECU’s admission conditions), or doesn't misbehave with the ongoing education conditions. 


 ECU reserves the right to decline to award literacy if, in its opinion, there are no suitable aspirants. The number of literacy to be awarded is at ECU’s sole discretion. This education may be withdrawn from offering by ECU at any time. 

 

 How to apply 

 

 Still, you ’ll automatically be assessed for this education by our Admissions Office, If we authorize your ECU course operation. No separate education operation is needed. 

 

 The Admissions Office will issue a separate letter relating to your education, along with a Letter of Offer for your course, to confirm whether you ’ve been successful.

 How to accept this education 

 

 To accept your education, you must
