Hokkaido Summer Institute​ Open for Applications 2024 II Fully Funded

Hokkaido Summer Institute (HSI) is now accepting applications for 2024! We offer a variety of courses divided into four types: the Advanced Research Course, the Global Liberal Arts Course, the HSI extension/professional program in English, and the HSI extension/professional program in Japanese. 

The Advanced Research Course provides cutting-edge classes taught by renowned researchers from overseas universities and institutions. These classes offer unique content that can only be studied at HSI. Additionally, Japanese researchers at the forefront of their fields also contribute to the lectures.

The Global Liberal Arts Course offers interdisciplinary classes with a focus on liberal arts. It is open to students from various academic backgrounds, including liberal arts and the sciences. No expertise is required to enroll in this course.

For working adults, we have the HSI extension/professional program in English. This program allows participants to engage in re-learning, as well as the acquisition and development of expertise. All classes in this program are conducted in English. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a digital badge. Students are also welcome to attend this program and can earn credits.

This professional program in Japanese offered by HSI extension is designed for working adults looking to enhance their skills and knowledge. The classes are conducted in Japanese, and upon successful completion, participants will receive a digital badge. It is important to note that while students are welcome to enroll in the program, they will not earn credits for courses taught in Japanese.
